MASS DANCE

University of Sheffield Students Union

Working as part of hop.skip.jump dance collective, Sarah and Zanna brought together 130 students from the University of Sheffield to create a Flash Mob to be performed at one of the student union nights in December 2012. The collective taught workshops all day with university society groups, using a variety of music choices chosen by the students' union. The Flash Mob was commissioned to unite students from different backgrounds and cultures in a shared experience, building a larger sense of community.

Wigan Warriors Rugby Club

Working as part of hop.skip.jump dance collective, Sarah and Zanna were asked to give fans an enhanced experience and chance to celebrate their love of the club ahead of the start of the super league season in February 2013. Fans signed up to a 'secret' project, with no knowledge of what it would involve, and came together to learn a flash mob dance. The group performed to hundreds of Wigan fans and public in the town centre the weekend before the launch of the season and then again in front of a 20,000 strong home crowd on the first match of the season.

''I had an amazing time being part of the flash mob! I love the fact that a group of perfect strangers with a shared love of Wigan Warriors worked together so well to produce a fantastic piece of dance guided by the girls of hop.skip.jump dance collective''
